The Launch of Levi’s Project

Last week was a significant one for our Chairperson John Wakelin and his family. It was the week they launched Levi’s Project, a $2.4 million commitment to DIPG research aiming to provide a future for kids with this aggressive brain tumour.

Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) is the most aggressive of all childhood cancers and all children with DIPG succumb to the disease within one to two years. Levi Wheeler, John’s grandson, was 8 years old when he lost his battle with this cancer, just a year after he was diagnosed.

Levi’s Mum and Dad have created Levi’s Project in his honour. The Project aims to develop a comprehensive and effective treatment strategy designed specifically for DIPG using a Total Therapy approach.
